Designed for a family of five by DeForest Architects, this beautiful contemporary courtyard house is nestled along Lake Washington, Seattle. This is a dream home for the owners, who envisioned a lakefront property with sweeping views of Mount Rainier and indoor spaces that flowed outside. This home features four bedrooms, three bathrooms and two half bathrooms, in addition to a media and exercise room.
The entrance to this lakefront property is through a serene courtyard, which offers ample privacy. The design team removed most of the main floor structure, while opening the main living spaces out to expansive terraces, lush gardens and panoramic vistas. Suspended ceilings, expansive windows and lift-slide doors creates an indoor-outdoor connection and frames views of both the lake and mountains in the distance.

A wall of wood siding offers the homeowners privacy at the street level, while a wall of glass opens the home out to the lushly landscaped courtyard.ย Deep roof overhangs helps to protect the windows and siding from the regions wet climate.
