Contemporary courtyard style home with Texas Hill Country views

This courtyard style home was designed by LaRue Architects along with Shoberg Custom Homes, located in the private golf community of Spanish Oaks, in Austin, Texas. The architects custom designed this home to capture its surrounding Hill Country views. The clients were a newlywed couple who were planning on starting a family, looking for a spacious floorplan with room to grow. They wished for a contemporary design, but did not want it to be overdone—the key was comfort yet low-maintenance

The dwelling surrounds a cluster of prolific oak trees, which were protected in the form of an expansive courtyard. Water elements, photovoltaics, lighting controls, and ‘smart home’ features are essential components of this high-tech, yet warm and welcoming family residence. Paula Ables Interiors was responsible for the interior design of this beautiful, contemporary home design.

The foyer welcomes its guest inside, with a continuous stone wall separated by two expansive window/doors. It creates a pleasant indoor-outdoor feel.
