This farmhouse style lake home was designed in 2015 by Wade Weissmann Architecture, in collaboration with Barenz Builders, located in Big Cedar Lake, Washington County, Wisconsin. The architects goal was to design the property to be reflective of the homeowners lifelong passion for the iconic sport of rowing.

They had spent most of their lives around crew clubs of the East Coast and articulated an admiration for the classic American boathouse. The design concept was centered around this aesthetic. The architects, with the help of interior designer Beth Wangman of i4design, created a grand, farmhouse style dwelling with a relaxed lifestyle.

“An historical clapboard exterior with wood trim is accented by certain components that are clad in cedar shingle in order to differentiate the form, and to create a specific focal point for the residence,” states the architects. “Additionally, the exposed foundations serve as a throwback to many of the old, historic utility buildings found within the area, made solely of local sand, cement and split fieldstone.”
