This spacious modern barn inspired family home was designed by Paul Lamb Architects, perched on a hill overlooking the city of Austin, Texas. The hillside property is on uneven ground, so the home was designed on multiple levels, with balconies at the rear to take advantage of the spectacular views. Upon entryway into this sun-drenched home, you see straight through to the opposite end, drawing the landscape in.
To further emphasize the wonderful site this home rests on, the interiors team at McAlpine House were brought in for the task. They wanted to bring the outside into the home, catering to the lifestyle wishes of the homeowners. Creating very livable interiors that feature modern yet comfortable furnishings, reclaimed wood beams on the ceiling and beautiful wood plank flooring.
The homeowners are avid art collectors, as is evident by the pieces that can be seen throughout their interior living spaces. They enjoy supporting local artisans and collections of stacked books also reference their love of art. Natural elements were also infused into the design scheme, from succulents that sit in the center of the living room to materials of stone, wood and hides, which injects warmth and freshness.
Bright, open spaces reflect a casual elegance that feels very warm yet visually contemporary in its aesthetic. The home was designed with entertaining in mind, so spaces are harmoniously connected with each other in a seamless flow as is the connection with the outdoors. Gorgeous outdoor living spaces features fireplaces, comfortable lounging areas and a deck with a barbecue. This exceptional property was built by Don Crowell Builders, making a wonderful family home to enjoy for years to come.
What We Love: This modern barn inspired home is beautiful both inside and out, the mix of stone and wood is very elegant and the causal furnishings looks very cozy and warm. The kitchen is just stunning, with its sloped ceiling and beautiful island that welcomes family and guests to sit and enjoy some casual dining and conversation. What do you like most about this home?
