Updated home in New York has a delightful modern farmhouse aesthetic

modern-farmhouse-exterior

Crisp Architects has renovated this colonial home with a modern farmhouse aesthetic, located on a forested 2-acre property in Chappaqua, New York. Purchased by a couple with two young children, this home includes a guest house, lush grounds, and a swimming pool. Leaving their city life behind, they desired for their new home to feel more like a bohemian farmhouse.

With a collaborative effort between the architect, designer, and the builder, the floor plan was opened up, windows and fireplaces were added, changing the whole feeling of the home. The kitchen, master suite, living room, and much of the rest of the house were completely renovated. In the end, the owners gained a bright and airy modern home that lives very well.

What We Love: This reimagined home with a modern farmhouse aesthetic offers cozy living spaces courtesy of warm wood flooring and ceiling beams. The interiors feel light and airy with the white walls and light material palette selection. We are especially loving the serene owner’s bedroom and bathroom, an inviting space to retreat to at the end of a long day.

Tell Us: What do you think of the overall results of this renovated home? Do you think it is idyllic for family living? Let us know in the Comments!
