Delightful contemporary farmhouse nestled in Napa wine country

contemporary-farmhouse-exterior

This contemporary farmhouse was designed by Holder Design Associates in collaboration with Summit Professional Builders, located in Napa Valley, California. A beautiful property surrounded by vineyards and breathtaking views of the Stags Leap range helped to inspire the design of this destination retreat home. The overall design recalls the modest agricultural origins of the surrounding valley.

Project Team: Architect: Holder Design Associates / Builder: Summit Professional Builders / Landscape Architect: Rhyne Designs Landscape.

An exploration with simple structures was selected to enable the natural environment and landscape design to have a greater presence. A detached two-story barn/garage was placed away from the home and was given a visibly different aesthetic in order to create a sense of arrival — all the while recalling the typical farmyard “accretion” of structures over time.

What We Love: This stunning contemporary farmhouse has a warm and inviting feel from the moment of arrival. The layout of the exterior structure has been presented in sections instead of just a box-like form. The outdoor gardens compliment the home beautifully and a vegetable garden adds the perfect touch to this farmhouse feel. The interiors are just as delightful, with lovely material selections and plenty of custom details to make this home one-of-a-kind and personalized… Readers, please share your feedback on the design of this home. We love reading your comments!

I love the home. There is an effortless indoor outdoor feel to every room. I love the mixture of contemporary yet warm farmhouse. Who doesn’t love a veggie garden off the kitchen.
