Bathed in natural light, this traditional style townhouse went through an extensive renovation carried out by Ben Herzog Architect, located in Brooklyn, New York. There are several cool new features that were added to this townhouse, including the addition of a staircase that leads up to a brand new rooftop deck with embedded lighting. The exterior structural wall at the rear of the property was removed and updated with glass and aluminum panels. The cellar staircase was relocated from the front of the residence to the back to create more space in the front of the home. To add a nice design aesthetic to the traditionally styled living spaces, two gas fireplaces were added for earth and as a focal point. The boiler was removed and the interiors were insulated so that heat could be provided by a super efficient heat pump unit.Most of the materials that can be seen throughout the home were sourced by the homeowners, which includes the stunning cement tiles that can be seen in the custom designed kitchen. With a soothing color palette and serene interiors, this renovation was a complete success for a comfortable and relaxing family home that will last for many years to come.
